Enhance your current dentures by retaining them with dental implants, or replace multiple missing teeth with this life changing treatment.
Securing dentures with implants can be transformative, making eating, speaking and smiling a joy again.
Implant retained dentures are special. Unlike traditional dentures, they’re supported by dental implants, which make sure the jawbone gets the support it needs to stay healthy, strong and supportive of your facial features. Because traditional dentures don’t create a relationship with the jawbone, it begins to shrink away resulting in what can be some dramatic facial changes, such as sunken cheeks and a protruding chin.
With implant retained dentures, not only will you have a fuller smile, you’ll also have more support in the cheek area, which makes for a more youthful overall appearance.
The steps to getting implant retained dentures
Evaluation: as with all our implants treatments, we will carry out a full examination of your mouth, and take 3D images and X-rays to see the status of the underlying structures in your mouth. We will also take note of your natural tooth shade and shape, so we can create custom dentures that are an accurate match for your facial aesthetic. Here at Innovadent Dental Clinic, we thoroughly enjoy the process of planning and designing dentures– it’s a craft that results in significant positive change for patients.
Surgery: the implants are surgically placed and will need to heal for about 3-6 months before your dentures can be fitted.
Denture placement: once the implants have healed, your dentures are placed over the implants, and should feel just like real teeth. You will be able to remove your dentures with ease, in order to clean them.
How will implant retained dentures benefit me?
- They keep the jawbone healthy.
- They prevent a hollow/sunken aesthetic in the cheek area, and stop the chin protruding forwards, both of which can age the face.
- Have dentures that have been created using quality, durable materials.
- Actions like eating and talking will become second nature.
